Description
elegant, ethereal. Reproducing empyreumatic aromas of kernels and other more candied and jammy notes, the first nose first focuses on a single fruit: apricot. By its side, orange and precious wood appear alongside noble spices (cardamom, clove, nutmeg) and toffee. Allowed to breathe, it becomes floral (hawthorn, purple lilac). Next, woodwork aromas (polish, beeswax, linseed oil) complete this particularly warm and heady picture.
powerful, concentrated. Providing its own interpretation of the aromatic palette’s floral character, the attack reveals flavours of salted butter caramel, apricot jam and vanilla. The rich mid- palate clearly evokes a tarte tatin topped with spices (star anise, black pepper) and coriander. The resinous (thuja, pine) end of the palate is characterized by notes of spice bread and pipe tobacco.
long, dynamic. At the start of the finish, exotic fruits (mango, persimmon) continue the fruity sensation emanating from this impressively mature Glenlivet. Slowly, cocoa powder, orange peel and lime blossom honey shower the palate. Completely changing track, the retro-nasal olfaction highlights a clear and limpid spirit through which a fresh, invigorating breeze flows. The empty glass is a mass of dried fruit and nuts (date, fig, almond, walnut, sweet chestnut).
